Wrapping up Luna’s recent North American dates

With Luna’s tour of North America coming to an end here’s a collection of what you can find put there relating to it.

New York, 18th September

Luna have added a fantastic cover of Felt’s “All the People I Like are Those That are Dead” to their repertoire for this tour - here they are playing it in NYC

This was supposed to cover the whole tour (there’s plenty more if you search for it) but I don’t have time. I’ll maybe do a better wrap up later… I do have an excuse.

The excuse

After a stressful few months, and an even more stressful last week it finally looks like Hazel and I are on the move again. On Monday we’ll be heading 60 miles up the coast (not quite reaching Scotland) to our new home in Tweedmouth, the less posh side of the river from Berwick-upon-Tweed.

The week has been chasing solictors and agents trying to get the move confirmed (confirmation only happened on Friday lunchtime - three days before the move). Also… packing, and we have so much stuff! The new house is smaller, I’m not sure how all our junk is going to fit in there.

We’ll have no broadband until Wednesday or Thursday next week and there’ll be a lot of unboxing to be done so next week’s newsletter, if there is one, will be a similarly rushed affair. Hopefully by the following weekend we’ll have started to settle in, and get the hang of it.

Despite all that I did manage to catch a matinee show in Sunderland on Sunday with The Primitives and The Cords. Both were excellent and a perfect temporary distraction.

Today I took a couple of hours off to see Whitley Bay FC for the last time as my local club. By the next home match on Tuesday my local team will be Berwick Rangers!

I’ll miss following The Bay.

They won 1-0 in a very enjoyable match, and deserved to win by a lot more but for some resolute Marske defending and some occasional sub-par finishing.

My Bay stats:

  • Matches: 79
  • At Hillheads: 55
  • Wins: 33
  • Draws: 18
  • Defeats: 28
  • Goals scored: 109
  • Goals conceded: 121
  • Highest Hillheads attendance: 1,659 (vs North Shields on Boxing Day 2025)
  • Average Hillheads attendance: 431

If anyone ever feels the urge to send me anything you can find my new address on AHFoW.

OK… have a nice what’s left of the weekend!
