Damon & Naomi’s small press imprint Exact Change has burst back into life after a period of dormancy. The first new publication is Mount Analogue by René Daumal
A touchstone of Surrealism, Pataphysics, and Gurdjieffian mysticism, Mount Analogue tells the story of an expedition to a mountain whose existence can only be deduced, not observed. Left unfinished (mid-sentence) at the author’s early death from tuberculosis in 1944 and first published posthumously in French in 1952, the book has inspired seekers of art and wisdom ever since - Alejandro Jodorowsky’s 1973 film The Holy Mountain is a loose adaptation.
The Exact Change website has also had a lick of paint and there are plenty of other selections from the catalogue available to buy.
You can also download a PDF of the lovely 20th anniversary catalogue from 2009
